about

This album is a collection of early demo recordings by Knew. You can download digital copies of the music here, or buy a hardcopy from us at one of our shows or via email. Knew sampler hard copies r $5 (plus shipping if its mailed). Any sales of these recordings will go towards recording our new full length album, currently in production.

Born out of a free jazz ensemble that the members of Knew took part in at the California Jazz Conservatory in Berkeley, Knew has been making regular appearances around the Bay Area since 2012. Knew basks in the past, present, and future by the creation of unique sonorities, textures, and pulses augmented by the instrumentation of guitar, saxophone, double bass, drums, and of course the intertwining dynamics of improvisation. With original compositions by leader Tristan Norton that bend both the preconceptions and parameters of jazz.

With original compositions by leader Tristan Norton that bend both the preconceptions and parameters of jazz. ... more
